剧情：清朝，连考十多次也没能中上状元后，朱秀才（黄百鸣）气死了老爹、气走了老婆，自己也含冤于某一寺庙悬梁自杀，结果无法投胎，灵魂被附在了他自杀时所用的麻绳上。 时间来到1980年代，香港高中女生林小花（李丽珍）、林青青（罗明珠）和颜如玉（林珊珊）暑期旅行的路上遭遇暴风雨，为避雨，她们闯进朱秀才自杀的寺庙，雨毕，林青青于慌乱中将附有朱秀才灵魂的那根麻绳带进住室，惹来一片惊声尖叫，但随着交流的深入，她们慢慢与朱秀才成为无话不谈的朋友，而彼此通过对方的鼓励，更加清楚了接下来要走的路——当然，这一过程中，没少闹笑话。

Plot：A group of girls go on a camping trip and take shelter from the rain in an abandoned temple. One of them, Bonnie, takes a rope she found in the temple back with her not knowing that in the rope lies the soul of a fallen scholar from the Ching Dynasty. The ghost, Bindeye Pik, tries to help them with some of their daily trials and tribulations but then unwittingly gets them into trouble.
